Marketing Copywriter/Content Producer

My client is looking for a multi-talented, enthusiastic, copywriter. The ideal candidate will have experience writing for e-commerce, across platforms and audiences. This position reports to the Head of Brand & Communications.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting all areas of the marketing team to consistently communicate the brand tone of voice in all customer-facing copy and content that is effective and engaging
  • Translating creative/marketing briefs into effective copy across all touch points. Must be able to take a marketing brief, from ATL campaigns to CRM initiatives, and work with the team to craft compelling copy that brings the idea to life across all of the brands touch points.
  • Writing, editing & proof-reading copy and planning content themes for marketing campaigns and acting as copy counsel for all marketing initiatives (including sales, promotions, email newsletters, social media content calendars, app push notifications, PR, Retail Marketing partnerships etc.)
  • Writing, editing & proof-reading copy for all ad hoc business requests for customer communications (including CS macros, CS IVR, Supply Chain transactional emails, UX projects and, from time to time, supporting Group brands)
  • Brainstorming and executing content marketing ideas to support Retail Marketing & Brand campaigns and collaborating with designers & Creative Lead to provide on-brand copy for artwork and relevant content ideas (e.g. buying guides, GIFs, infographics, videos content etc)
  • Owning and updating the copy and content on all Marketing-owned areas of the website (including FAQs, Terms & Conditions etc.) via the Wordpress platform
  • Supporting the Digital Marketing Manager to make sure on-site copy works effectively for search engine optimization purposes
  • Researching your subject matter to ensure the quality and accuracy of your copy, with the objective of always adding value to the customer experience
Attributes required:
  • Lightning-quick proof-reading accuracy with an obsessive eye for detail
  • Ability to write different types of copy consistently depending on its purpose
  • Capability to present creative ideas succinctly (written & verbal)
  • A grounding in Marketing and Communication principles
  • Highly organised and efficient, can work towards and meet tight deadlines
  • Creatively-minded with an ability to craft numerous campaigns across multiple departments
  • Results-oriented with a can-do attitude
  • High energy with a thirst for knowledge and willingness to learn
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in writing for online, blogging and social media (advantageous)
  • Experience in creating content for brands (advantageous)
  • Bi-lingual in English / Afrikaans (advantageous)
  • A minimum of three+ years' working in copywriting/content production and/or related digital marketing
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in communications, copywriting, English language or related degree
  • Experience in an e-commerce environment
