Job description

International sales office for a tour operator is seeking a reservations manager

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Booking accommodation, transfers and other services
  • Organising appropriate alternative accommodation keeping a reasonable itinerary in mind
  • Managing the reservations process for bookings until completion of travel
  • Supervising the reservations department
  • Maximum 24 hours turnaround time on all enquiries 
  • Saturday duty (on a rotational basis) 


Knowledge required: 
  • Understanding of tour operating and general reservations procedures through study or work experience
  • Good knowledge of South Africa and/or Namibia as travel destinations would be of advantage 
Skills required: 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English 
  • Good telephone manner and excellent communication skills 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task  
  • The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, have attention to detail, be accurate, customer focused, committed, hardworking, eager to learn and an excellent team player
System skills required: 
  • Computer literate with experience in Word, Excel and an email program (Outlook or Thunderbird) 
  • Understanding of travel quoting
  • Working experience in E-res
Previous work experience required: 
  • Minimum of two years previous tour consulting or reservations managing experience required
