Job description

  • Source, identify and secure new business opportunities within the Agency portfolio
  • Fact find and take briefs from clients and prospects
  • Stay abreast of clients' driver and current events affecting their organizations
  • Informal client research relating to their business and planned activities (previous, current and future advertising) in order to understand their needs and identify opportunities to maximise revenue.
  • Selling the benefits of Agency sales for Power FM and Capricorn FM as an advertising medium, to media agencies, Agency portfolio and individual clients.
  • Maximise Sales revenue for Agency sales for Capricorn FM and Power FM.
  • Ensuring the achievement of agreed targets to sustain the radio station's revenue
  • Develop and execute strategies with Power FM and Capricorn executives to penetrate new accounts
  • Generate creative solutions for clients
  • Ensure that station output and other activities support revenue generation, and that clients receive a high quality and consistent service at all times.
  • Produce regular lead, account, and opportunity reviews in conjunction with business development and corporate leadership
  • Manage the sales process for an assigned territory within the Agency vertical - from introduction to delivery
  • Generate leads through cold calling, presentations, and other lead generating activities
  • Identify key account decision makers to maximise Power and Capricorn’s solutions; perform due diligence on prospects to gain an understanding of overall financial condition, lines of business, key decision makers, competition and Power FM and Capricorn FM’s competitive positioning
  • Proactively build and maintain in-depth knowledge of Power and Capricorn services, industry trends and competition
  • Follow up on all sales briefs timeously
  • Facilitate client workshops in order to generate sales
  • Ensure that contracts are timeously delivered to clients
  • Handle all clients request and enquiries effectively and timeously
  • Seek out and develop funding sources that align with organizational priorities, values and mission
  • Management of financial and non-financial resources, and daily coordination of office personnel.
  • Sourcing and evaluation of lost/dropped business, determination of reasons in order to establish business
  • Efficient after sales services in order to ensure client satisfaction and future business
  • Communicate results of advertising campaigns to client in the form of a post campaign analysis
  • Ensure collections and timeous payments are made by clients.


  • Ability to implement sales strategies and tactics to grow sales in a highly competitive market, relying on differentiating product features and business value rather than price.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Detail oriented, relationship building skills and a passion for customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Remain up-to-date on trends and research-based knowledge to effectively deliver relevant, reliable reports
