We are searching for a talented Business Director, to grow the agency revenue in the region and offer senior leadership to the regional office. The successful hire will be required to ensure delivery of revenue growth in the region while creating a productive and aspirational work environment, in keeping with the agencies values. The candidate will lead and inspire the team to create and deliver on the group business strategy. The candidate would be an ambassador for the agency brand, connecting across their personal networks to help build the agency profile in the region and grow spend with new and existing clients. 

Key Performance Areas 

Business Development
  • Deliver outstanding client and consumer insight to strengthen new business and pitch process and optimize identification of business development opportunities
  • Connect the regional office and wider agency group capabilities to produce leading creative solutions that deliver business value to clients and the agency
  • Empower and enable team to think about and sell creative work in new ways to deliver business value to clients
  • Demonstrate a strong insight and understanding of national customer trends (emerging black consumer in particular), understanding impact and identifying opportunities to capitalize on this potential
  • Identify key influencers, events, partner brands and venues to support creative process and client service/production teams
  • Be the ‘figure head’ for the agency in the region, taking part in speaker and conference opportunities to do this
Branch Leadership
  • With People MD in person and working alongside national CEO and Operations Director, play a lead role in shaping/defining the agencies vision across JHB region ensure that they consistently deliver this vision and adheres to relevant core processes
  • Attract, develop, retain and mobilize the best talent for the agency & group
  • Lead, inspire and motivate teams to understand and ‘live’ company values and to deliver commercial goals and ambition
  • Identify and progress high potential equity candidates to provide a ‘talent pool’ for agency & group
  • Contribute and protect office environment and culture 
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years' client (brand management) or agency side (client service, strategy or business development) experience
  • Tertiary qualification (ideally in marketing related field)
  • Driver’s license and own vehicle
