Job description

A designer creates integrated material to best suit the needs of the client with aid of a full brief to suite the needs of the client.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
  • Confidence to present and explain ideas to clients and colleagues
  • Interpreting the clients' business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
  • Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes to production for clients
  • Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research and in consultation with copywriters/client service/production
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
  • Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
  • Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
  • Knowledge of print and production processes so able to take design through to DTP finished art and final PDFs
  • Strong computer skills - keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as indesign
  • Be aware of and expose themselves to the world of branding and design
  • Produce designs for corporate identity, brochures, point-of–purchase, packaging, promotions, presence branding, etc. – this involves using techniques such as photography, illustration and computer generated imagery


  • Design qualification
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and After effects
  • A good portfolio of work and at least five years’ work experience as a designer
  • Proficient in InDesign
  • Experience working in digital is important
  • Experience working on below the line advertising material, including corporate identities
  • Careful attention to detail and able to take creative through finished art to final print ready PDF
  • Creativity and originality
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and creative abilities
  • Can work well in a team
  • Good time management skills
