A small but prolific design team seeks a creative graphic designer with experience in both print and electronic media. This position is based in our Johannesburg office. We’re looking for someone who can take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs with in the PR space. The successful candidate should have an intimate understanding of how marketing campaigns work, especially in the corporate sector, to support our clients. We work in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal graphic designer will be able to hit the ground running as soon as we bring on a new client or project. Applicants with experience in creative teams and designing with other professionals will be given prime consideration.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Create visual aspects of marketing materials and other media, including infographics, newsletters and presentations
Interpreting a client’s brief to create something visually striking
Create graphics that communicate an idea or promote a brand
Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
Scheduling project implementation and defining budget constraints
Consult with clients and PR teams to create cohesive designs that reflect their corporate cultures and goals

Minimum three years of study in graphic design and/or related discipline
Proven graphic designing experience
Five+ years' in professional commercial design, preferably with a marketing or creative agency
Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
Thinking creatively and developing new design concepts, graphics and layouts
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
Be fully fluent in image editing and design software
The ability to work on various projects at any one time
Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) specifically on Apple Mac.
Experience with Dreamweaver and After Effects a plus. Other applications you will need to work with are MailChimp and PowerPoint.
