An excellent communicator with a flair for maintaining and developing relationships with existing donors and the ability to build a network of new donors
Experienced at developing and implementing innovative fundraising strategies
Can identify and develop long-term, sustainable funding streams with corporates, trusts and foundations, individuals, institutional and international funders
Can undertake prospect research to identify suitable target organisations and key influencers within those organisations
Experienced at writing detailed reports for donors
Someone who thrives working with and coordinating both internal colleagues and external stakeholders
The Children's Hospital Trust is an independent non-profit fundraising organisation which impacts on child healthcare through the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital – a stand-alone tertiary hospital in sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated entirely to children. Since 1994 when the Children’s Hospital Trust was first established, we have raised over R600 million to upgrade, expand and equip the Hospital’s buildings, support key services, unblock backlogs in critical service areas and develop professional staff. In addition, the Trust has supported ground-breaking child healthcare initiatives outside of the Hospital, strengthening services for children at other levels of the health system and reducing burden on the Hospital.
In order to apply candidates must:
Have minimum of eight years fundraising/corporate/CSI/donor relationship experience in securing high-value donors with a list of proven local and international relationships
Have relevant degree/diploma
Have excellent English verbal and written communication skills. A second language, African or foreign, would be a plus
Be a leader with relevant experience
Have experience in preparing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences
Have strong reporting, proposal writing and presentation skills
Have relevant work experience preferably within a non-profit or healthcare sector
Be able to clearly articulate outcomes and impact and be confident in interpreting budgets
A proven network with corporate relationships especially CSI/Transformation Teams
Be independent, but able to work with a team and highly-motivated with a can-do attitude
