Job description

  • Responsible for managing and growing key enterprise accounts for a dynamic young company in the digital marketing industry
  • You need to be a self-starter that can motivate yourself and work independently without close supervision, but thrive on advice and collaboration with team members.
  • You need to have an entrepreneurial mind-set and get excited by a fast pace environment where things are constantly changing.
  • You need to be highly intelligent and adaptive with high EQ to fit into our dynamic and youthful company culture.
Please note: You will be required to reside in Johannesburg for initial training and shadowing existing account managers. Time required based on experienced. 

Role activities:
  • Relationship building
  • Managing and retaining existing clients as well as new clients
  • Managing client expectations
  • Know and understand the product inside out
  • Training on the Everlytic software product for clients
  • Dealing with any support queries and questions
  • Advising clients on email best practices
  • Assisting clients on the best way of implementing their strategy and achieving objectives by using the features in the product
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and objectives
  • Upselling and cross selling of existing products in lin with client objectives
  • Renew and negotiate client’s existing contracts
  • Compiling client reports
  • Compile high quality reports and workshops
  • Representing the organisation at events and workshops
  • Advising clients on forthcoming product developments
  • Attending team meetings
  • Attending our monthly staff meeting in Johannesburg once a month
  • Experience with Everlytic or any similar email, mobile or computing/cloud hosting software products
  • HTML knowledge

  • A bachelor’s degree in communication management or similar (a similar diploma will be accepted)
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of three+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Tech savvy
  • Substantial knowledge of the email, mobile and digital landscape, locally and globally
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Your own transport with a valid drivers licence as you will be requested to do client visits and trainings
  • Communication skills:the account manager should speak clearly, concisely and professionally at all times. You should be able to communicate the value proposition to clients and assist them with any queries and/or question regarding the product and services.
  • Quick Learner: You will be working with a dynamic ever-changing software product. You need to be able to understand and learn the software quickly, ensuring you are updated with all new feature releases at all times.
  • Logical Thinking: a certain level of intelligence is required in order to extract valuable insights and trends from client reports and analytics. The findings should make logical sense to clients and inspire them to adjust their strategies in order to improve their benchmarks.
  • Pro-active:  the account manager is responsible for assisting clients with any queries at all times, however a level of pro-activeness is also required: assisting clients with the correct advice based on your knowledge and expertise, when necessary, even when they did not ask for it.
  • Attention to detail: this goes hand in hand with good organisational skills. You will be required to know the status on all your accounts and ensure that no communications gets dropped or lost in translation. Ensure that all queries, reports and tasks are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ownership: you need to be able to take ownership of all your client portfolios and duties. You need to take full responsibility which includes honesty and correct communication channels with clients.
  • Deadline Driven: You need to be extremely deadline driven. Time management and prioritisation is crucial for you to ensure all client deadlines are met.
  • Self-motivated: You will have a team in Johannesburg that you can rely one, however you need to stay self-motivated as the team in Cape Town is extremely small. You need to be able and comfortable to work on your own and achieve the same results as within a team.
  • Commitment: this is the main attribute. You are making a commitment to be on time, not to give up when times are tough or clients are difficult, to support other team members and to be the best you can. Commitment is the cornerstone for all the other attributes this account manager should possess.
